COP26 - where next for the media?

Date/Time: January 25, 2022 12:00:00 - 13:15:00

How effective was the media in engaging audiences with climate change during the recent COP26 summit? Given the importance of public engagement in the coming year, in the run up to COP27, what lessons have the media learnt? How will coverage change? What opportunities will there be for NGOs to pitch their stories?

During this online event we will hear from CNN, Sky News, the BBC and WWF, and Gaby Hornsby will share the BBC's internal audience research to help us understood what sort of coverage is most successful in engaging mainstream audiences.

Speakers:

Angela Dewan - CNN, International Climate Editor

Sarah Whitehead - Sky News, Deputy Head of Newsgathering

Matt McGrath - BBC News, Environment Correspondent

Jack Lundie - WWF, Director of Wild Isles

Gaby Hornsby - BBC TV lead for sustainability
