IBT CAMPAIGN GROUP

IBT Campaign group

The IBT Campaign group was established in 2007 when the old 3WE (Third World and Environment Broadcasting Project) and IBT merged to create a unified organisation under the title of IBT.

Members are involved in liaison, lobbying, communications or campaigning on behalf of their organisations and are drawn both from IBT’s members and from allied interested media organisations. Membership is free.

The remit of the group is to:

  1. provide and exchange information on campaign developments, broadcasting regulation and  matters of interest to IBT members
  2. hear speakers on issues of concern to the group
  3. provide input and support for IBT’s Campaigns

The group met three times in 2007 to hear speakers on a range of subjects relevant to IBT’s campaigning activities. Meetings take place at the IBT offices in Southwark..

Recent meetings have been on:

  1. The Ofcom proposal for a Public Service Publisher (PSP)
  2. Ofcom’s report on the Future of Children’s TV and the Save Kids TV Campaign
  3. Dfid’s strategy for communication
  4. Background briefing on Channel 4/World Vision series Millionaire’s Mission
  5. Channel 4’s new remit and vision for the future
